What is the Cometary Science Center?

The Cometary Science Center (CSC) is a center devoted to the observation, news, and study of comets, established in 2009. The CSC will endeavor to establish the most comprehensive website devoted to comets. The first phase of the CSC, for which funding is being sought, will establish separate webpages for each recent comet (eventually working back in history to include all comets). Each webpage will contain an archive of images for each comet, as well as data obtained from photometric and spectroscopic observations contributed to the CSC, information regarding the history of each comet, and links to such useful information as astrometric, orbital, and ephemeris data, bibliographic records concerning published papers and articles, and other websites containing helpful material on comets.
